Dr. Forster is the Executive Director of Primary Container Engineering, Drug Product and Device Development at Amgen Inc.
He is responsible for all aspects of primary containers from clinical scale through commercial operations to customer satisfaction. Ron is active in the Parenteral Drug Association (PDA), Pharmaceutical Quality Research Institute (PQRI).
Ron has taken an active leadership in forming, leading the Industrial Syringe Forum (now under the PDA) to share best practices and to develop a set of common user requirements for syringes.
Ron is a leading advocate for advancing primary container systems, advancing technologies and materials to meet the current and future needs of patients and professionals globally.
Prior to joining Amgen, Ron was with Merck Inc. where he was Senior Principal Engineer he lead a group that implement Quality by Design for primary packaging systems from early clinical development through commercial supply chain systems.
In addition he served as an Adjunct Professor at Rutgers University in Biomedical Engineering and Ceramic Engineering. Ron has an Interdisciplinary Ph.D. from Rutgers University in Chemical Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, and Mechanics and Materials Science.
